Ruth D. (Orwig) Emig, 82, entered into rest at Dallastown Nursing Center on Saturday, March 4, 2023.

Mrs. Emig grew up on a farm in Shrewsbury with her parents Vernon K. and Dorothy C. Orwig and her five siblings.

Ruth graduated from Susquehannock High School in 1958 and was married June 15, 1958 to Clarence Eugene "Gene" Emig, Jr. She loved celebrating holidays and birthdays. Her favorite being Christmas. She also enjoyed card club with her friends, reading and traveling the states. Ruth worked as a title abstractor for 35 years for several law offices.

She is survived by her daughter Vicki (Emig) Bricker and son-in-law Robert "Rob" and a son, Kirk E. Emig and his wife Jamie (Edris) Emig. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jade E. Emig of Virgina, Noelle L. Dubbs and her husband Russell, of Seven Valleys, Kara E. Emig and her fiancé Ross Gunderson, of York, and Sawyer K. Bricker of Seven Valleys; as well as a great granddaughter, Lilly Marie, and sister, Doris "Dottie" Defoy.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Kenneth "Gene", William "Bill", Harold "Jack", and Katherine.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Dallastown Nursing Center for the care they provided to Ruth. They are a special group of people.

A funeral service to honor Ruth's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 9 ^th at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc. 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with Pastor Richard Dubbs officiating. A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, beginning at 10:30 AM until the start of the service. A private burial will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
