Ruth A. (Jennings) Grove, 90 of York entered into Heaven in the waiting arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, who said "welcome, my good and faithful servant". She was the beloved companion of Donnie Blouse.
Ruth was born July 29, 1928 on her grandparents' farm in Loganville to the late Harry A. and Helen (Reever) Jennings. She often said that it was so hot that day, they didn't know what to do with her.
Ruth was a lifetime member of St. John's United Church of Christ. She sang in the choir and served on many committees, including the church banquets. She was well known for delivering the church bulletin and the Daily Bread booklet to anyone who could not attend. Ruth also enjoyed attending Connect Christian Church with her daughter. She was a humble lady, serving God in many ways and always doing anything she could to help anybody, and loved to chat with anyone that she met. You may have started out as a stranger, but always ended up as a friend. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
In addition to her companion, Donnie, Ruth is survived by 3 children: Les Grove (Nina) of Dallastown, Michael Grove (Laurie) of Lewes, DE and Kathy Grove Rayhart; 7 grandchildren: Josh, Seth, Joseph & Benjamin Grove, Jamie & Travis Reid and Jeremiah Rayhart; 6 great-grandchildren: Katie, Ethan & Emma Grove and Emerson, Everett & Eli Reid and 2 siblings: Charles Jennings and Hilda Fink.
A funeral service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held Saturday, September 1 st at 11am at St. John's United Church of Christ; 1009 Blymire Rd, Dallastown. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Saturday from 10am until the time of the service at the church. Interment will following in the adjoining church cemetery.
For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ at the above address.
