Obituary

Shirley R. (Wagman) Reiker,88 of Dallastown, was ushered into Heaven from ProMedica South in York, in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 2, 2022. She was the loving wife of Joseph E. Reiker for 49 years until his passing on February 20, 2008.

Mrs. Reiker was born in York on June 10, 1934 and was the daughter of the late William C. and Margaret M. (Ort) Wagman.

Shirley was a lifelong resident of Dallastown and a member of St. Joseph's Church in Dallastown. She was a 1953 graduate of York Catholic High School and was employed by Graybill's in downtown York as a secretary until her marriage to Joe on October 4, 1958. Shirley was an excellent cook and her desserts are legendary. She enjoyed decorating the house for every holiday and loved hosting her family for those holidays. Our sweet, wonderful mom will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her one daughter, Diane M. Lewis and her husband Dennis; three sons, David J. Reiker and his wife Brenda, Thomas J. Reiker and his wife Mary Ann and Gregg J. Reiker and his wife Kimm; eight grandchildren, Jed, Renee, Landa, Pam, Erik, Tori, and Mia; five great grandchildren, Solomon, Kelsey, Kyle, Ella, Clara and a baby boy due January 2023. She is also survived by four great-great grandchildren, Regan, Reid, Rydge and Krew; as well as three sisters, Doris E. Metzler and her husband Michael, Loretta A. Deller and her late husband Leo and Debra S. Pyle and her husband Mark; sister-in-law, Valerie Wagman and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jared and her brother, Michael W. Wagman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 251 E. Main St., Dallastown, with Fr. Mark Weiss officiating. Prior to the funeral mass, a viewing will be held at the church on Thursday, beginning at 10:00 AM until the start of the service. Internment to follow in Yoe Union Cemetery.
