Obituary

Steven R. Fitzkee, 75, of York Passed on to his heavenly home on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Pappus House, Thomasville, PA. He was the loving husband for 53 years of Nancy J. (Day) Fitzkee.

Born, January 15, 1951, he was the son of the late Robert and Vivian (Foust) Fitzkee.

He joined the family business, Fitzkee’s Candies with his grandmother and father in 1971 and was serving as vice president at the time of his passing.

Steven is survived by two children: Clinton J. Fitzkee and his wife, Jamie of York and Stephanie R. Dickmyer and husband, Shaun of York; two sisters Gail S. Rutland (wife of the late Ron) of Seven Valleys and Diedre E. Wilkins and her husband, Terry of Gaithersburg, MD, brother-in-law Gary Day of Rehoboth, DE as well as four grandchildren, Autumn, Ella, Cameron and Mira, and aunts, uncles, and many nieces, nephews & cousins.

A funeral service to celebrate Steven’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 10th at York First Church of the Brethren; 2710 Kingston Rd. in York. Interment will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery in York. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service starting at 10:00 am until the start of the service.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hospice & Community Care and the Pappus House for the excellent and loving care they provided to Steven and their entire family.
