Obituary

Susan "Sue" Elaine (Renfro) Johnson, 64, of Red Lion, passed away at the York Hospital on Friday, March 9. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Robert "Dean" Johnson.

Mrs. Johnson was born in York on October 5, 1953 and was the daughter of Janet L. (Trump) Renfro and the late Dewey S. Renfro.

Born and raised in Southern York County, Sue attended Susquehannock High School. She previously worked at Rutter's of Jacobus and Wetzel's Market in Glen Rock.

Sue enjoyed doing crafts, and attending many country music concerts with her best friend Beverly Sheffer. She currently had a love of old western movies. She was a loving wife and amazing mother, who was proud of her husband and her three children. Sue also loved to visit and be with family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, whom she loved to talk about.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Chad Dill of Hallam, and Matthew Johnson of Red Lion; a daughter, Kayla Boyer (Kenneth) of Red Lion; four grandchildren, Kyle Boyer of York, Jazlyn Johnson, Dalton Boyer & Owen Boyer, all of Red Lion. She is also survived by four sisters, Karen Schmit (Michael)  of Glenville, Judy Bostion of McSherrystown, Tina Dyer of Brogue, and Lisa Fair (David) of Spring Grove; two brothers, Brian Renfro of Glenville abd Troy Renfro (Crystal) of Seven Valleys; two uncles, Charles Renfro (Louise) & Dallas Renfro both of Spruce Pine, NC and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel "Danny" Renfro.

A viewing for Sue will take place at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown on Thursday, March 15 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and then again at the funeral home on Friday, March 16 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. Pastor Kevin Becker officiating.  Interment will follow in Salem Union Cemetery.
