Tanya J. (Amspacher) Ellis, 49, of York, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 at UPMC Mechanicsburg- West Shore Hospital. She was the loving wife of Michael E. Ellis, Jr., with whom she shared 22 years together.

Born Thursday, May 23, 1974, in York, PA, she was a daughter of the late Donald L. Amspacher and the late Jeanne E. (Rohrbaugh) Smith and her husband Martin C. Smith of York.

In addition to her husband and stepfather, Tanya is survived by her daughter Tiana Gardner and sons Nicholas and Donivan Gardner; her three brothers, R. Tracy Winters, Todd Winters, Trevor Amspacher and three sisters: Tammy Rodwellar, Tara Snyder, Trisha Kotyk along with two grandchildren: Kellen and Myla.  She is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, that add up to nearly one hundred.

In addition to her parents, Tanya was proceeded in death by her brother Troy Amspacher.

Tanya's passion was spending time and loving her family. When she was down or struggling, she would find a way to bless others.  She worked in healthcare for many years and would take others under her wing and make them feel like family.  Tanya's energy, infectious smile and loving attitude would light up a room.

A service to celebrate the life of Tanya will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the York Alliance Church 501 Rathton Rd, York, PA 17403 with Pastor Rod officiating. A time to share memories with the family and an opportunity to view will be on Thursday from 9 am until the time of the service at the church. The burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery 1502 Mt. Rose Ave. York, PA 17403.  A time of fellowship will take place at the church immediately following.  If Tanya remembered you in casual attire, celebrate her life at the funeral in the same clothes.
