Teresa M. Godfrey, of York, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 15, 2026. She was the beloved wife of L. Richard “Dick” Godfrey.

Teresa was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of those around her. She was a graduate of York Catholic High School, where she had the special honor of being crowned Homecoming Queen. Throughout her life, Teresa was a dedicated and hardworking woman, having spent many years employed at Campbell Chain and Brocker Steel, both in York.

Teresa found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially gardening, horseback riding, sewing, and upholstery. She had a creative spirit and a love for working with her hands, taking pride in the things she made and the beauty she brought into the world. Above all, she cherished her family and the memories they created together.

In addition to her loving husband, Teresa is survived by her son, Steven Godfrey; her granddaughter, Paige Godfrey; two great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Thomas Godfrey; and her siblings, Margaret Huson, Frances Brandt, Joseph Hemler, and Elizabeth Reheard. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Kathleen Altland, Dorothy Bailey, and James Hemler.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Teresa's life will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Those wishing to attend, please arrive at the cemetery gate around 10:45 a.m.

Teresa will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Her memory will live on through the many special moments and memories shared with those she loved.
