Thomas S. Imes, Jr., age 82 passed away away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at The Haven at Springwood.


Born January 9, 1936, he was the son of the late Thomas S. Imes, Sr. and the late Helen E. (Shirey) Imes.  He was the husband of Carolee A. (Tonges) Imes with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.


In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by a son, Thomas S. Imes III and his wife, Carol and a daughter, Constance S. Nace and her husband, Sam.  He is also survived by two granddaughters, three great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.


A 1953 graduate of Dallastown High School, Tom retired from Dentsply after 25 years of service and was also self-employed for many years as Imes and Son Auto Sales and Repair.  For many years, he was a volunteer firefighter with the Yoe Fire Company where he also served as Assistant Chief and as Chief.  He was also one of the founding members of the Yoe Ambulance Association.  Tom enjoyed hunting and spending his time at his hunting camp in Cameron County.


The family would like to take this opportunity to thank The Haven at Springwood and Caring Hospice Services for the outstanding care they took of Tom.


A funeral service to celebrate Tom's life will be held on Friday, October 5 th at 11am at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc.; 104 W. Main St., Dallastown with Rev. Dr. Chris Rodkey officiating.  A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Friday from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
