Obituary

Thomas L. Kornbau, 86, of Red Lion, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024 at York South Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the beloved husband of Nancy L. (Grove) Kornbau.

Mr. Kornbau was born in Dallastown on January 15, 1938 and was the son of the late Gereon and Emma (Eberly) Kornbau.

Following high school Thomas served in the United States Army as a medic. For most of his life he worked as a machinist and also as a sheet metal worker and wood worker. His greatest passion was the outdoors and conservation. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent countless hours in the woods and on the water.  He enjoyed his many trips to Canada; was an original founder of the Dallastown Rod and Gun Club of Center County and was a member of the Springfield Farmers and Sportsman Association.   He was also a member of the Izaak Walton League of Dallastown, where he was very involved, including serving as past president and for many years was the head of the Junior Chapter. Thomas was a mentor to future sportsman and taught hunter's education for the Pennsylvania Fish and Game Commission, and was involved with youth field days.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two children; son, Duane Kornbau and his fiance' Jill Dietz and daughter, Stacy Kornbau. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard "Dick", Donald, Kenneth, Glenn "Jack", and Robert "Pete" and Bruce Kornbau.

A graveside service to celebrate Tom's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 1,2024 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:45 AM.  The family requests for those who are attending to dress casually.
