Vernon E. "Bud" Ducharme, 79 of Red Lion passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Rest Haven-York. He was the beloved husband of Rebecca E. (Stough) Ducharme.
Born September 13, 1938 in York, he was a son of the late William S. and Amelia (Morancey) Ducharme.
Bud was self employed as an industrial welder and fabricator and had a passion for Great Danes. That passion extended as well to horses, which he showed for many years. He was also an avid NASCAR fan, and cherished his trips to Grand Cayman.
He is survived by 4 children: Kathy A. Miller and her husband, Wayne of Middleburg, FL, David L. Ducharme and his wife, Vickie of York, PA, Diana L. Bailey and her husband, Roger of Dallastown, PA, and Robert A. Becker and his partner, Tonia of Red Lion, PA. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, his faithful Great Dane, Moe, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and other family members.
In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Perry and his sister, Imelda Ryes.
A funeral service to celebrate Bud's life will be held on Tuesday, July 10
th
at 7pm at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home; 104 W. Main St., Dallastown with Pastor Duane Bahn officiating. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Tuesday evening from 6pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Following cremation, graveside committal and burial will take place at 10am on Thursday, July 12

at Codorus Church of the Brethren Cemetery; 1129 Dunkard Valley Rd., Dallastown.
