Virginia V. (Eckert) Saylor, 86, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 14 at The Brunswick at Longstown. She was the beloved wife of 59 years to Frederick J. Saylor, until his passing in 2009.

Mrs. Saylor was born in York on March 23, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Ervin L. Eckert and Viola (Huffnagle) Buckingham.

Virginia was self-employed as a beautician and was also a former realtor. During her retirement years she delivered flowers for Schaefer Flowers, a job that she truly loved doing. She was a long time member of Windsor Assembly of God, where she wrote two books of poetry for the church. She was a friend to everyone she met and was quick to greet you with the words, "God bless you" and a hug.  Virginia was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her four children, Gary Saylor and his wife Joanne, Greg Saylor and his wife Vickie, Gene Saylor and his wife Julie and Gail Saylor and her companion Eric Sheaffer. She is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Eric and Sebastian; two brothers, Ervin and Kenny Eckert; and by her sister, Betty Eckert Donley.

A viewing will take place on Wednesday, July 18 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, 104 W. Main St., Dallastown and then again at the funeral home on Thursday, July 19, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
