Virginia Lee (Markey) Smith, 79 of Windsor Twp., passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, September 13. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald E. Smith.

Ms. Smith was born in York on July 21, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Charles L. Markey and Virginia I. (Hilt) Grove.

Virginia enjoyed spending time with her family and working outside in her yard. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses – Red Lion.

She is survived by her four children, Keith A. Smith and his wife Susan of Spring Grove, Carol E. Gembe and her husband Martin of Red Lion, Annette M. Ortenzio and her husband Michael of Middletown and Sharon Wagner and her husband Timothy of Spring Hope, NC. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, as well as her sister, Sandy Golden and her companion Ronald of Alburtis, PA; her brother, Michael D. Markey and his wife Michelle of Red Lion and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda J. Steffee.
