Wade E. Gillespie, 63, of Brogue, passed away at his residence on Friday, April 18, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Danette E. (Bell) Gillespie, with whom he shared a devoted marriage since July 19, 1997.

Born in York on January 26, 1962, Wade was the son of Purdon R. (Smith) Gillespie and the late Burton Gillespie Jr. A hardworking and skilled machinist, Wade dedicated much of his life to his trade, earning the respect and admiration of all who worked beside him.

Wade was a man who found peace and joy in the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and gardener, passions he pursued with great enthusiasm. A life member of the Yorkana Gun and Game Club, he treasured the camaraderie and connection it brought him with fellow sportsmen and friends.

Devoted to his family, Wade was a steadfast presence in the lives of those he loved. Whether it was offering a helping hand, words of encouragement, or simply his time, he was always there when it mattered most.

In addition to his wife and mother, Wade is survived by his two children, Nicole S. Gillespie and Ryan T. Gillespie; and two great-granddaughters, Estella Chronister and Novalynn Gillespie, who brought him great pride and joy. He also leaves behind his loving siblings, Pertain Buckland and her husband Kevin, and Corine Gillespie; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a large extended family who will carry his memory in their hearts.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main Street, Dallastown. A funeral service celebrating Wade's life will follow at 8:00 PM. Interment will be private.
