Wayne L. Posey, 85, of Red Lion, passed away on Sunday, October 31 ^st at Rest Haven – York. He was the beloved husband of Monica E. (Ryer) Posey. The couple would have celebrated their 64 ^th wedding anniversary this November.

Mr. Posey was born in Red Lion on September 15, 1936 and was the son of the late Albert L. Posey and Julia M. (Garner) Shank.

Wayne was a 1955 graduate of Red Lion High School. He was involved in the plumbing trade since 1953 and in 1963 started his own business, Wayne Posey Plumbing and Heating. He enjoyed traveling and he and his wife visited every state and several places overseas.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Deb Smith and her husband Keith. And his son, Dirk L. Posey and his wife Jody. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristopher Smith, Derika Deardorff, Jenna Posey, Seth Posey and Eden Posey; great grandchildren, Carson, Kaelyn and Bennet Deardorff and Konnor Smith; brother, Joseph "Lee" L. Posey and his wife Bonnie; sister, Trudy Frey and her late husband Luther, and half-sister, Kathy Shank.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, November 5 ^th at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with Pastor Judy Sawmiller officiating. A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home one Friday and will begin at 1:00 PM until the start of the service. Interment is private.
