William B. Hess Jr. of Dallastown died at home on October 16, 2023.

Born April 8,1932 in York, he was the son of Willam and Beatrice (Showalter) Hess.

He graduated from Dallastown High School in 1950 and received his B.A. from Penn State in 1954 where he was a member of the Blue Band and Delta Upsilon fraternity. He was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church in Dallastown. Bill was past member of Dallastown School board, Red Lion/Felton Band, American Legion Band, Golden Age Chorus and was a founding member of the Dallastown Cougar Football Association. He retired from Core States Bank as Vice President of Operations after 30 years of service.

He was the husband of Doris Keener Hess for 49 years until her passing in 1998. Bill is survived by his children: Deborah Lawrence (Pat Morgan), Willam Hess III (Tina), Mitchell Hess (Deb), grandchildren Nicole Lequin (Stan), Andrea Perkins (Dave), Kelly Gembe (Ryan), great-grandchildren Tripp Lequin, Everleigh and Siena Gembe. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Robert Hess, and great granddaughter Taylor Lequin.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 23 at Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main St., Dallastown, with Pastor Patti Bream officiating. A visitation with the family will be held at the church on Monday and will begin at 10:00 AM until the start of the funeral service. Interment to follow in Dallastown Union Cemetery.
