He was a member of Living Word and was involved in many church activities throughout the years. Among those experiences was a mission trip to Biloxi, Mississippi, where he helped with recovery efforts following Hurricane Katrina. Bill also enjoyed trips to Disney World and spending time with his family. He especially treasured the time he spent caring for and being with his great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Joanne, he is survived by his two daughters, Wendy Herbst and her husband James, and Christine Buchanan and her husband Glenn; four grandchildren, Danielle Stabley and her husband Jake, Kevin Buchanan, Cortney Buchanan and her partner Audrey Hoke, and Justin Herbst; three great-grandchildren, Aubrey Buchanan, Mersadies Horner and Alexa Horner; his sister, Rosie Lacy; as well as his nieces and nephews.
