Obituary

Sarah Jane Eberly Kessler, 61, of Leola and formerly of Dallastown passed away Thursday at home in the arms of her loving husband. She was the wife of Robert H. Kessler to whom she was married for 35 years.

Sarah was born November 2, 1950, in York. She was the daughter of the late Austin H. and Hope (Rojahn) Eberly.

A funeral service to celebrate Sarah's life will be 11:00 am Tuesday January 24, 2012, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 109 East Main St., Dallastown with her pastor, the Rev. Roger Mentzer officiating. Burial will be in Blymires Cemetery. Viewings and a time to share memories will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc. 104 W. Main St. Dallastown, and Tuesday 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.

Sarah was a lifelong member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Dallastown High School class of 1968, and also a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelors degree in Special Education. Sarah was a teacher and volunteer in special education for more than thirty years, and she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post #605 in Dallastown.

In addition to her husband, Sarah is survived by one brother, Austin H. Eberly II and his wife Diane of Red Lion; two sisters: Martha E. Clark and her husband Mark of Spry and Rosa A. Eberly of State College, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Sarah's family has suggested that rather that flowers memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church 109 E. Main St. Dallastown, Pa. 17313, or to your favorite charity.
